Locust Hill is widely recognized as one of the country's premier golf courses, boasting a par 72, 6,615-yard layout with narrow fairways and challenging greens. The course has a rating of 72.8 and a slope rating of 138.

For over thirty years, Locust Hill has hosted and tested the world's top LPGA players and served as the centerpiece for the Ladies' PGA championship's last four years.

When Locust Hill expanded from nine to eighteen holes in 1927, they commissioned Seymour Dunn, a prominent Scottish golf course architect, to design the course. Read more about our history here.

The Scottish tradition inspired the naming of Locust Hill's golf course holes (see Course Tour). When the course was completed, the committee dubbed the 18th hole "All Dunn" in response to a theory that Robert Trent Jones had participated in the design - Jones had simply visited the property as a Cornell student.

Locust Hill has a long history of charitable giving, with the Rochester Jaycees hosting a Charity Pro-Am tournament at the club in 1966, featuring Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Doug Sanders, and Bruce Devlin. After their rounds, Nicklaus drove the green on a 360-yard par 4 and two-putted for birdie, while Palmer holed out for eagle on the 466-yard eighth hole, both expressing their admiration for our Rochester Championship Golf Course. In recent years Locust Hill has hosted it’s annual Give Back tournament that has supported vetran’s organizations in the Rochester region.
